‘With Flowers in Her Hair’ woven ribbon artwork

Description

Primarily made from organza ribbon sourced from gifts received and leftover ribbon from gifts sent, With Flowers In Her Hair has interwoven ribbon of the palest blues shot through with two purple bands handsewn onto a reused frame.

The embroidery is from a variegated metallic thread in tones of gold, blue and pink and pictures a woman with an elongated neck and added flowers in her up-do hairstyle.

The backing is white with a shadow of damask printed scrapbooking paper.

The overall size is 290 mm by 492 mm (11.42 by 19.37 inch).

This piece was completed in October 2013 as the second of a series of artworks I made that year and is being offered for sale now for the first time. It took me 17 days to make this piece.
