About Me
Putting aside the existential crisis that question evokes leaving me as a speechless mess and causing me to want to respond shakily, ‘I am me’. It’s not a question I’ve ever answered comfortably. Are we what we do? What we like? A sum total of our experiences?
In short, I am me, and the me of that statement if a thing that fluctuates and changes while never actually moving. Not so illuminating.
At present I live in regional Victoria. I am a mum of a young just school age child. Emerging from the chaos of the preschool years and returning to work, learning to balance work, parenting, and all too many craft and art ideas clamouring for attention.
As an artist I like to dabble with various mediums but I prefer the closer handling of hand sewing and embroidery than the limited success I have controlling brushes and paints. I have some success with pencils if the planets align.
I like to weave, bringing various fibers into close proximity to each other to observe their interaction. Having a strong preference for paper and fabrics these usually form the basis for my work.
It is possible that you have noticed that I am a lover of philosophy with a keen interest in identity theory. My interest mostly stems from the amusement that people find such thoughts of what an individual is important and attempt to even define the self.
